PROCEEDINGS OF THE 1st KLEIT ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (KLEITAA) MEET held on 9th Dec 2012 at the KLEIT Campus, Hubli
The KLEIT Alumni Association met on the 9th December 2012 for the Annual Meet as planned beforehand in the Seminar Hall of the college.. 32 alumni delegates, mostly employed with various organizations attended the meet, wherein they shared their experiences and viewpoints on various issues. The meet was held at the K.L.E. Institute of Technology in the presence of the Dean of Academics Prof. R. R. Burbure, Heads of various Departments and Faculty Coordinator and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering Prof. Sharad Joshi. Four alumni faculty in KLEIT viz. Prof. Vaishnavi Kulkarni, Prof. Santosh Ronad, Prof Vijeth Kotagi and Prof. Vibha Prabhu also played active role in the meet. List of participants is enclosed herewith.
Several Alumni spoke on the occasion. They expressed their gratitude to the Alma mater for all that they received from it. Some shared their experiences in the industry highlighting the requirements such as punctuality, discipline and inquisitiveness.
The various resolutions passed in this meet are as follows:
1. It was resolved that the alumni will continue to meet on the second Sunday of December every year and there shall be no changes in this schedule for now.
2. It was resolved to give an amount from the account of the Association to the welfare of the economically weaker and meritorious students of their alma mater in accordance with the Objective No (ix) of KLEITAA. The beneficiaries will be selected in the following manner.
The College (K.L.E. Institute of Technology) will identify all such students entering first year of engineering who:
Are economically weaker (the definition of which is left to the discretion of the college authorities.)
Are not eligible for any fee or other concessions from the Government or college
The College will conduct an examination covering various topics of the II PU syllabus for all such students.
The maximum marks of this examination may be decided by the college faculty.
Four students securing the highest marks in this examination will avail a scholarship of Rs.1000 (one Thousand Only) per student per year for the duration of the engineering programme.
In the event of a tie in the score of the examination also only four beneficiaries shall be chosen wherein two (or more) of the beneficiaries have secured the same marks in the examination.
The beneficiary should not fail in any subject of the engineering programme (optional or compulsory) in any semester to continue receiving the scholarship.
In the event of failure of the beneficiary in any subject of the engineering programme the scholarship will be stopped for that particular student and only the remaining students will continue to receive the scholarship.
The scholarship amount will be credited to the bank SB account of the beneficiary directly by fund transfer from the account of the alumni association or an account payee cheque which will be handed over to the student.
The list of beneficiaries will be informed along with their credentials to all the alumni delegates and also announced by the Dean of Academics at the college Annual Gathering Khushi.
3. The alumni delegates promised to grow as socially responsible citizens and also hone their entrepreneurial skills.
