K.L.E Institute of Technology, AICTE approved, and engineering college located in Hubballi, Karnataka, India. It was established in 2008 and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. KLEIT-IEEE student branch laid its foundation in the year 2014 under the leadership of Dr. R.L.Itagi ( Member IEEE) and Dr.Manu T.M (HOD, ECE) with the support of institutional head and the management. IEEE student branch was established to provide a global platform to enable, inspire, develop and support students as the future leaders of engineering profession. Starting with only 12 members at present, the student branch has 52 student members.

KLEIT-IEEE SB has stretched its wings in conducting various technical and social events to enrich the innovative powers of the students. It has got awarded as “Best Small Student Branch -2015” from Bangalore section. It has been hosting many social and technical events to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity under the guidance of Branch counselor Mr. Ravi Hosamani with the encouragement of Dr. B.S Anami(IEEE Fellow,Principal, KLEIT).

IEEE student branch was inaugurated at K.L.E. Institute of Technology Hubli, on 14th march 2014. Chief guest Dr. Suresh Jangamsetti addressed the students about the importance of IEEE. Principal Dr. Basavaraj.S. Anami explained about the involvement of student and faculty in IEEE. Dean Prof. R.R. Borbure adviced the students about entrepreneurship, H.O.D E & CE Prof Manu T.M. H.O.D E & EE Prof Vinoda K.S, branch counselor Dr. R. L.Itagi, Faculty and students of E&CE and E&EE Dept. were present.

Two Day workshop on “ Information Centric Networks”

A two day workshop on Information Centric Network (ICN) was organized by KLEIT IEEE Hubli, on 6th and 7th February, 2015. The facilitators were Dr. Hemanth Rath (Senior Scientist, TCS Networks LAB, Bangalore) and Dr. Rajan M. A (Research Scientist, TCS Innovation LAB, Bangalore). Students were introduced to ICN, its history, developments and current day progress in ICN field. The workshop included theory sessions with lab on NS2. Students were made aware of ICN systems and career importance in the field of ICN. Sessions were interactive, informative and space was provided for discussions. Overall workshop was conducted in a professional way by the IEEE student chapter.


The event was organized by KLEIT IEEE SB Hubli, for 5th SEM ECE and ECE and EEE 7th SEM students. Event begun with an welcome to distinguished speakers by Manu T.M Professor, HOD, Dept. of ECE, KLEIT Hubli. Event was conducted in two sessions, the morning session started with introduction of Dr. Gopal Hegde (IISC Bangalore), and Dr.T.Srinivas (Associate professor, IISC Bangalore). The session continued by professor Gopal Hegde and gave complete overview of nano technology, MEMS, some video clips on nano structures, Micro-Nano fabrication techniques and he concluded with sharing information about the facilities available in IISc for researcher on nano-technology. Dr.T.Srinivas continued the morning session with brief discussion on photonic and Optical Communications and professor told about IEEE membership development and benefits to the students. Afternoon session started with introduction of Dr.Veena S. Chakravarthy (Director - Asarva chips and technologies). Dr. Veena started her talk with small brainstorming questions to the students and continued with overview on SoC, IC manufacturing processes, highlighted on testing and verification, it's uses and Micro-Nano fabrication techniques. Students were introduced to photonics and its applications. A brief of SoC design methodology, EDA tools & introduction to ITRS was given. Also discussed on how to take up good project based on resource availability and industry demands in VLSI domain. The sessions were very informative and helped the students gain more technical knowledge and awareness about new technologies, current trends, facilities provided by industry and IISc Banglore.

WORKSHOP ON "ARDUINO" (4 to 6 September 2015 )

KLEIT IEEE SB organized a three day workshop on Arduino at the college. The workshop was begun with registration and distribution of Arduino-Kit to the students. It was followed by Inaugural function and invited key note speaker was Mr.Prakash. N. Kurdekar, CEO/CTO Unified Softech Pvt. Ltd Hubli, Ms: Soujanya Patil introduced the chief guest to the gathering. Prof. Vinoda HOD of Electrical and Electronics Engineering addressed the gathering to take best use of workshop as it helps them to build hobby and academic projects. Session was taken by Mr. Praksah Kurdekar, shared the view on embedded system design, how human life is much dependent on electronic gadgets, recent developments in embedded systems and necessary skills required to make a career in embedded system domain were also discussed.


National science day was one of the IEEE SB mega event celebrated on 29/2/2016 organized by IEEE SB KLEIT in Association with SSRB High School Gokul, Hubballi. The even organized in the memory of Sir C.V. Raman invention ‘RAMAN EFFECT’ for which Nobel Prize was awarded in 1930. In this regard event stated with an essay writing competition to school students of S.S.R.B government high school on topic “Public Appreciation For The Country's Development On Contribution Of Scientific Development”. The next part of event was in the afternoon “SCIENCE MODEL EXHIBITION” in which students from KLEIT and high school both of them participated and exhibited different projects of basic science like Ohms law, Wind Energy, properties of light, Electroplating and many more. High school student their national level prize won projects exhibited such as Hydraulic Arm, Power Generation Using Helmet and Power Generation Using Automatic Opening And Closing The Door . The main attraction was demonstration of flying of Quad copter and moment’s robot. More than 200 students attended this exhibition and acquired knowledge


This event was a contest that test the knowledge in information and technology filed. There was a thirty minutes preliminary round and second round visual round followed by a final challenge that attacked participant. IT quiz QUIBBLE was conducted by 'IEEE Student Branch' on 27th August, 2016. It was organized on the pretext of helping students develop and test the knowledge in information and technology filed. The event experienced and good response of over 35+ teams had participated in that more than 43 IEEE student members were taken part.


On 6th IEEE day was celebration with SRB High School 10th Std. students. It was one day work shop on “INTERNET “. In the morning the Dr. Yerriwasmy was inaugurated and shared the information about the IEEE and about internet era. Prof. Ravi Hosamani presented the session on computer and its parts, student were very enthusiastic and clarified their doubts followed by our IEEE SB valentines took the session on internet connection, briefed about modem, router, Telephone line, server in the afternoon session high school students made to aware of how to search the topic using internet some of the topic were take solar system, periodic table and tissues followed by email account creation session was take for students. The student were shown interest and interacted in all the session of the day.
